Micro Optics Technologies, Inc. first developed fiber optic microphones for the U.S. Air Force in 1993. Since then we have further developed fiber optic intercom products for the Air Force, the Navy and NASA.

Company Profile
The Fibersound Division of Micro Optics Technologies develops, manufactures, and markets headsets for communication in difficult and hazardous environments using fiber optic technology. Fiber optic technology overcomes limitations of traditional electrical technology for electrically noisy environments, hazardous ambient environments and secure data situations where radiated electrical signals cannot be tolerated.
Founded in 1986 by physicists working in the areas of fiber optics and novel optical materials. Micro Optics Scientists have patents in both optical microphone and optical earphone technologies.
These technologies have been developed since 1989 with support from the U.S. Department of Defense through three Phase II Federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contracts and ten Phase I SBIR contracts.
