How does the OCEP system work?

The OCEP earplug uses an optical, power-by-light method to deliver both the communication signal and the driving power wirelessly to the active earplug.

The Optical drive of the earplug speaker is delivered by infrared light originating in the earmuff or helmet.

The user simply inserts the earplug as he or she would their normal earplug. Once they slip on their earmuff or helmet they are immediately connected to receive incoming communications with the clarity and high signal-to-noise that can be delivered by an active earplug—even at noise levels exceeding 130dBspl.
