All Optical Communications EarplugThe FOS-OP900 family of optically driven communications earplug provides a communication solution without any wires, electronics or electrical signals at the earplug or in the connecting fiber optic cables. The optical to acoustic transducer in the earplug allows the system to be used in severe EMI environment including in the bore of the magnet in a MRI environment. No noise is picked up from the EMI fields nor are any current artifacts introduced by the earplug acoustic transducer.

Intrinsically Safe Optically Driven Communications EarplugThe ISFOS900-K "Intrinsically Safe" optically driven earplugs
provides a lower cost alternative to the All-Optical Earplug solution that meets the low voltage and power criteria for an 'Intrinsically safe' electrical device. The
ISFOS900-K fiber optic linked communications
earplugs transmits the power and signal to the earplug by a fiber optic
link but the final acoustic signal generation is by a conventional
electromechanical audio transducer. The lack of any electrical connections to the earplug and the low operating voltage and current of the final audio transducer make the communication earplug suitable as an 'Intrinsically Safe' device. The transducer is also completely sealed from the external environment.

Optically Driven Communications EarplugFor less demanding EMI environments, the FOS900-S and FOS900-K optically driven earplugs provide a lower cost alternative to the All-Optical Earplug and Intrinsically Safe earplug solutions. The FOS900-K and FOS900-S families of fiber optic linked communications earplugs transmit the power and signal to the earplug by a fiber optic link but the final acoustic signal generation is by a conventional electromechanical audio transducer.
